How to Get Motivated To Exercise

We all want to exercise but there seems a lack of motivation that prevents us from doing so. Let us learn few tips that will help you do those exercise with interest and maintain a routine.

Timing Is Everything

Often, one cannot go to the gym at the same time every day. Sometimes the schedule may change due to personal and professional commitments. In such cases schedule your timing and appointments in the calendar. Then you may decide in advance the dates and the times in which exercise has to be done.

Why Are You Exercising?

Before going for the gym, one should plan out the purpose for which we go to the gym. Are you looking to increase those muscles and get a 6 pack or are you just looking to reduce the weight. Different Exercises and programs are meant for these two goals. So, based on that your plan of action needs to be taken. Work there with a goal and focus on your goal.

Getting The Most

Take a look at the equipments that are available the gym. Work on those machines on which you are comfortable with and do not take those heavier machines. Have the self motivation that you can do. To keep the pace, one can take an mp3 player & put a pair of head phones; listen to some music while exercising. Alternately, Audio Books are often a welcome distraction that really works.

Friends Help

Make some friends in gym, which will keep you engaged while you are working at the gym. Working alone at the gym may not create the right atmosphere and you may feel bored after doing few minutes of the exercise. A work-out buddy creates the perfect atmosphere at the gym. Picture yourself of the healthy & fit person you want to be like. It may be an actor or a sportsperson. That inspiration will surely motivate you in doing that exercises. Learn from the gym instructor new exercises that may interest you and try them.

Keep Exercising!

Do not loose interest if the results are not shown soon. It will take some time for the body to take shape based on the level and amount of exercises that are being done by you. Maintain a realistic goal of achieving the dream body and success will surely come. Plan a reward for yourself for that achievement. These will motivate you in working harder and more sincere towards the goal. Read some fitness magazine or fitness newsletter that share more tips of exercises. One can create a competition every week between friends on push-ups or some other exercises and the performer getting the prize. Such fun and motivational approaches should be there to lighten up the atmosphere.

Exercise Myths and Facts

It seems that in most fields there is worthless folklore and half-truths that get passed down the line from individual to individual. But I would put weight loss up versus any of them for what has to be the most time wasting and yet the most serious myths out there.

There is a ton of gratis advice seen in the mass medium these days and if it is taken seriously, can truly set you back on your weight loss efforts. This can contribute to the sort of frustration that makes people think they are “intended to stay fat for life”.

This is not true, examine the exercise-related weight loss myths beneath and get your own decisions.

Exercise on an empty stomach and burn more fat.

Efficient weight loss is the full amount of calories burned during the daytime, not how or why they were burned. It does not matter whenever it’s dark or first light, so exercise early in the day has no reward to exercise later in the day.

Studies point that increased metabolism inducted by anaerobic exercise is in reality lower after a big meal. Which likely means that more energy is being in use for digestion than what is being used to repair muscle.

A lot of exercise is better.

All exercise sessions are good to each person. Still, more exercise isn’t always better. It depends on what is attempting to be accomplished. There’s a stage and frequency involved to reach results.

After this stage is accomplished, supplementary exercise could have the contrary effect, not permitting the body to recover and adjust to the stress stimulated by the exercise, which can be damaging to your results.

After stopping exercise muscle will become to fat.

This in not possible: Muscle and fat are 2 assorted types of tissues in the body and you cannot turn one into the other. This is similar attempting to turn water into milk. If you end training, the muscles will reduce in size – and don’t disappear. The many calories absorbed that are not burned will be deposited as fat. The trick is to adjust your calorie intake appropriately according to how much exercise you do.

If your not wet with sweat, you are not going hard enough.

Sweating is the body’s formula of cooling itself down. Many elements contribute to body temperature, including room temperature, types of exercise executed, body-fat levels, vesture, and exercise strength. The intensity for exercise can not be estimated by the quantity you sweat.

A well-trained individual will frequently sweat a lot since their body can more efficiently regulate heat.

Can I consume sugar before exercise to enhance energy levels?

Consumption of sugar will lead to a speedy rise in blood sugar levels. This fast jump induces a release of insulin, which rapidly removes the extra sugar from the blood system, often making your blood glucose levels to drop, occasionally below the level that it initiated at, leading to faster exhaustion.

So simply exercise consistently and regularly. Eat wisely. Your weight will drop over time.

Stop Hating Exercise – Tips for Finding Exercise You LOVE

Many of us been there. We are told by doctors, family and friends: exercise more. We try the gym and dislike it. We know we need to do it… but we don’t want to. So what is the solution? How can we find something we adore doing? Here are several things I’ve tried — hopefully one (or more!) will work for you.

1) Exercise That Makes You Feel Like a Kid

In grade school I loved the big balls… so when pilates came out with Pilates with a Big Ball, I felt like a kid again. Not sure why this seems to be true as it is still the stretching and toning exercises, but it worked for me. Using a Pilates Ball has helped me tone muscles. Sometimes, I just use it as a chair and have it work automatically.

2) Discover the Unusual

Sometimes, when trying new sports, one will be so wonderful you just can’t stop. For me this was roller hockey. Though I was the only female on my team, I had a wonderful time! (I’m currently looking for a new team.) Other sports I have tried that are wonderful include: rock climbing, volleyball, and roller blading. You may also want to consider scuba diving and surfing. Your mileage may vary but it is worth a try.

3) True Gaming

Video games actually can make you thin! My favorite is DDR (Dance, Dance Revolution). It is wonderful fun. I would not have believed it without trying it. Everyone who has come over loves it too!

You need either a Playstation or a Wii to play this game. A Playstation 2 is cheapest. A playstation 3 includes a blu-ray player so is multi-use. A Wii has more movement games (though there are many for both playstations).

4) New Twists on Walking and Biking

Walking or biking to music has long been a tried and true method, but for some of that it isn’t enough. Audio Books can make the difference. When lost in a story, it can be easier than ever.

So try some new ways to add exercise to your life and have fun!

Losing Weight… Exercise or Diet?

The age old question arises… do I eat less or exercise more to slim down?  Well, often it isn’t just how much you eat – it is what you eat.   But how can you do more than being a rabbit (that is eating lots of lettuce and celery)!

One of the easiest ways to take control of ones diet is to write a diet journal.  This forces you to notice what and when you are eating and if you are hungry at the time.  Once you know your habits, you can change them.

The first step would be to do your best to only eat when you are hungry.   If you really have to eat when you are not hungry, that is when you have salads and celery.   Because if you aren’t hungry and you want to lose weight,  you need to eat something light if you are eating for comfort or socializing.

The second step would be to decide whether you are going to limit calories or carbohydrates or even just sugars.   Even if you decide that the way you are going to lose weight is by exercising more, changing your habits at least a little will help you also get healthier at the same time.   So think about what tact you are going to take — or what you are willing to do if you need to do something on the “diet” end of things.  I’ve lost weight from cutting out refined sugar.  I’ve also lost weight from simply cutting calories.  The easiest weight I lost was by simply eating alot less carbohydrates.    I did lose weight from cutting out fats — but I ended up having other health issues from that.   As bodies differ, consulting a doctor if you are making drastic changes at once is recommended.

Exercise.  There, I’ve said it!  Just walking around the block every day helps.  Yes, it is that easy.   You can increase that block to a couple of blocks over time.  It often gets more enjoyable as time goes on.  I know when I started this, I felt much healthier and happier.  Yep.  It affected my moods too!  So try a bit to see how it helps.

Just changing a little can make huge differences over time… and not just the waistline ..  your health improves too!
